Call Us When the Shuttle Lands is the eighth episode of the first season of Heathers. The episode was written by Daniel Brier and Jason Micallef, and was directed by Jessica Lowrey. It aired October 28, 2018 on the Paramount Network.

In response to the spate of violence in their area, Westerburg decides to stage an "active shooter" training drill. Heather Duke, Heather Chandler, and Veronica end up in lockdown together.

Summary[]

In response to the spate of violence and unrest in their area, Westerburg decides to stage an "active shooter" training drill in which students are placed on lockdown while the drama teacher goes classroom-to-classroom spraying people with silly string.[1] Heather Duke, Heather Chandler, and Veronica end up in lockdown together and end up sorting through some of their issues and seem like friends again. J.D. experiences Westerburg's idea of disaster preparedness with the rest of his classmates.

  • The episode title comes from a line of dialogue spoken by Principal Gowan in the original film.
  • Filming at the gun range took place September 1, 2017.

Distribution[]

  • If the series had aired as originally intended, the episode would have premiered April 25, 2018 on the Paramount Network.
  • Following the first delay of the series, the episode would have premiered August 28, 2018 on the Paramount Network.
  • When the series did finally air on the Paramount Network, the episode was pulled at the last minute due to the Pittsburgh shooting at synagogue which left 11 people dead.[2] Therefore, it did not officially air on television in the US but was available to stream on the Paramount Network website and app.
